Diplomats Residences - Sustainable Design alterations to 8 x villas

The Diplomats Residences project comprised 8 villas and had the design approved from the municipality, therefore with the main volumes set, the possible alterations for these villas would concern external and internal envelope material changes, towards environmental-friendly alternatives.
The analysis started on the sun exposure on the main facades, going through site prevailing winds, making external sitting areas comfortable under the arid climate and making the best materials choices for the envelope and the landscape, seeing the lack of rain in the country for irrigation proposes.
All the choices and strategies were based on a Handbook previously developed by me, which focus on the best Sustain- able strategies for the Arid Climate combined with various applicable approaches for National and International Assess- ment Methods.
Outcomes:
This project gave me the ability to apply my knowledge in a practical way, learning to set baselines from ASHRAE standards, I had learned from an experienced professional from that area which materials and techniques would work for this project. As well as learning a new Software: IES-VE.
